We have done quite a bit of traveling these last couple months. My favorite trip was going back to where I spent many summers as a kid, Red Wing Minnesota. We visited my grandpa in the best Mid Western small town in America. It was amazingly cold, yet so cool to show my fiancé the parks my brothers and I played in, the massive Mississippi river we would fish, and the woods we explored. She got to experience the locally famous Knudsen Caramels (we brought home a 1 lb bag, they are amazing.), The Red Wing Shoe Factory (home of the worlds biggest boot!) and the Barn Bluff. We even got to visit the home my dad grew up in. All Hannah kept saying was "I want to live here!". I don't think that is in our immediate future, but maybe some day. Until next time Red Wing.

I want to make feature films. I've always wanted to make stories come alive and I've been writing endlessly to achieve that goal. I've been staying up late these last couple nights. I have been writing a story about the nightlife in my neighborhood, and it got me wandering around, taking pictures of random buildings and the night lights. I think I am at a point in my life where I want to create something that represents something more than just a fun story, but something deeper, that gives some answers but really asks more questions because that's what happens in life, you pursue answers and sometimes they come to you, and sometimes they escape you, leave you discouraged or frightened or even alone. I hopefully aim to make these films to help people be comfortable asking questions, be comfortable in the hidden areas of their lives and continue to push forward. I think that's why I love wedding videos, because it is this joyous moment on the edge of an unsure future, full of dreams and excitement, but an underlying unknown to explore, and these people willingly throw themselves into it, all because of love. I think that is what I am trying to get across in my films, is that there is a freedom in exploration of the unknown, that faith is not just a flowery concept but a way of life that enables growth and experience. Hopefully these films will be able to express that and a few futures will be a bit more clear.

We started this website a couple months ago and in that time we have had a great amount of people visit and contact us for their weddings and portraits to be captured and it has been a blast getting everything done. I thought it would be cool to add a blog to the site to share our thoughts, keep people in the loop with what we are up to and maybe add some photos that wouldn't normally make it to the website because they might to fit in a folder or are just silly, call it the directors cut if you will.

As of today we have booked weddings in San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Chicago, Kansas City, and possibly the Bahamas. We are so stoked to travel and feel so lucky for the opportunities provided. 2014 is going to be a big year and we hope to fill our schedule up with more awesome trips. Besides the business, 2014 will be great because Hannah and I will be getting married ourselves! It is an exciting time and we can't wait to be a husband and wife duo. It's kind of a funny experience being on the other side looking for a photographer and videographer for our wedding, and in that we realized that we want to make our business as easy and relatable as possible. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment or email, we would love feedback.

Well there you have it, post #1 is in the books. Talk to you later.
